Florida Keys Collaboration!

2 Comments on Florida Keys Collaboration!

People probably get tired of me saying how much I love to collaborate! But I really do! I’ve had the opportunity to participate in a few quilt swaps on the quiltingboard.com and have enjoyed and learned so much from all the quilts I’ve exchanged. The other day a someone who I have swapped with contacting me with a special request.

QuilterMomma was making a commissioned quilt for a couple who has a special connection with the Florida keys. Finding a pattern with a map of the keys at proved elusive so she email me about it. I was super happy to oblige with a simple drawing of the string of islands for her to embellish and add to as she needed. She recently sent me a few pics of the final quilt! Posted below. The islands and tip of Florida are from QuiltFusion, the rest was embroidered or added appliques with some nice waves for the quilting.

If you have any special requests for appliques available with QuiltFusion, please be sure to post them in the comments. We would love to collaborate with more of you, and as always, please send pics!!

Thanks for sharing QuilterMomma!

This quilt is one I commissioned from QuilterMomma (one of many that I have asked her to make for me in the last year.) This quilt was a tall order as my boyfriend has very specific thought process for this quilt. It is a baby quilt for a friend of his who he frequently visited in the Keys and dived with. I could *not* be happier with this quilt. She does such amazing work, and I am so thankful she had a reliable source to get the pattern from. Thank you to you both for making this quilt everything he dreamed of, and more!

The quilt is beautiful and I would love to have a copy of the pattern. My son and daughter in law were married there. I love fish and the water so it’s a win win for me, IF, I could get the pattern.
